Troop 150 received awesome service from Carolina Rental Car in Cayce, SC. We appreciated the extra efforts and the personal touch that Micah put forth for this buying experience. Anyone should feel secure when buying from these great folks on eBay. When Micah found out that we would be driving back home through bad weather, he checked the bus and replaced the worn out windshield wiper blades. This little act saved us from a dangerous trip home. We hit snow, a blizzard for us southern Alabamaians, just north of Atlanta. We spent nearly 2 hours driving through snow that was blowing horizontally. With the lanes only 2/3 normal width due to construction, having a clear windshield made it possible to make it safely home that night. The Scouts really love their new bus! They are looking forward to "pimping" their new ride!
On December 27, 2007, Troop 150 purchased a used 28-passenger bus to provide our transportation needs for future Troop activities. On this page you can see pictures of the bus and some of the graphic design ideas under consideration for the bus. Please submit your own ideas to Mr. Will for inclusion on the page.
Here are a couple of pictures of our Troop bus. It is a 1999 International Navistar 28-Passenger bus with only 146,000 miles. We are the second owners of this bus with United States Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune as the original owners. The bus is very nice inside and is air conditioned! Below is a view of the outside of the bus.
Stepping into the bus you can see that the interior is good shape and that the bus is clean. Despite the bus already being clean, Basheer spent the better part of two days in the early spring scrubbing the seats, washing the floor, and giving the bus an intense cleaning. The bus looks spectacular on the inside now! Thank you to Basheer!
Below are the graphics planned for the bus. A local sign company is going to donate their services and materials to make the graphics on screen printed vinyl. Our goal is to have the bus completed in time for the Enterprise Christmas Parade!
This is the graphic for the driver's side of the bus. It will extend
from just behind the driver's window to the rear of the bus.
This is the graphic for the passenger's side of the bus. It will
extend from just behind the doors to the rear of the bus.
This is the graphic for the front face of the roof.
This is the graphic for the rear face of the roof.
This is the lettering that will go along the top edge of the roof,
with the bottom edge just above the ridge on the side. The direction
of the lettering forms an arrow that points towards the front of the bus.
This is the logo for our Troop. This will be in white or reflective
vinyl applied to the window on the back left side of the bus.
This is the logo for our chartering organization. This will be in white or
reflective vinyl applied to the window on the back right side of the bus.
This will be placed on the hood at the front of the bus.
This graphic is already on the rear window of the bus.
During our first two long trips with the bus, many
have asked us to make them a similar "bumper
sticker" for their vehicles!
